Puerto Vallarta April Calendar

Puerto Vallarta April Calendar

The month of April continues the dynamic spring season in Puerto Vallarta, and this time of year is the setting for not one, but two major occasions that bring thousands of visitors to the area to fill the streets with even more electricity than usual. April 2017 in particular is blooming with fun events for locals and visitors alike, and although there's never a bad time to find yourself on the Banderas Bay, this upcoming month is particularly eclectic.

Mercado Los Mangos Seasonal Market

Mercado Los Mangos This April marks the first full month of this new seasonal market showcasing locally produced goods crafted, grown and created by local artisans. Located at the local Los Mangos library and cultural center, the market will feature vendors selling fresh fruits and vegetables as well as baked goods, chocolate, handmade clothing, decorative jewelry and much more. The market will also host a children's craft tent to offer little ones a cultural experience as well, and the market is open Saturdays from 9 to 2:30pm.

April also marks the final month of the biweekly Southside Shuffle taking place every other Friday on the city's thriving Calle Basilio Badillo. As part of this lively local celebration, over a dozen businesses lining this popular strip open their doors to the community, offering special exhibitions, exclusive giveaways, and the occasional free drink.

Semana Santa- April 5-12 and Pascua (Easter Break)

Perhaps the single most populous period for Puerto Vallarta, Semana Santa sees countless Mexican nationals from across the nation descend upon this sunny seaside city on family visits during this holy two week period for the country's faithful. This is an excellent time of year to discover the sense of community and belonging that makes Puerto Vallarta one of the country's most frequently visited locales.

Bucerias Oyster Festival- April 28th

Bucerias Oyster Festival
Seafood lovers won't want to miss the yearly Oyster Festival set for the end of the month, a tribute to the hardworking divers who do their part every day to contribute to the outstanding reputation of the local product. On this special day, fishermen contribute a full days' catch to an open-admission townwide feast that showcases the local sense of community as well as holding a contest for largest oyster and electing a queen of the festival each year.

Punta Mita Gourmet Golf Classic April 28th-May 2

This annual event taking place in nearby Punta Mita brings globally ranked golfers to the celebrated course at St. Regis on the Banderas Bay to compete against the beautiful backdrop of the Pacific coast. Attendees to this glamorous event will also be treated to a multi-course tasting menu prepared by high profile chefs accompanied by wines from world renowned vinyards.

Dia del Nino-April 30th

April 30th marks Dia Del Nino, or Children's Day, in Mexico, and the celebration is particularly colorful in Puerto Vallarta. As part of the festivities on this day, local children dress up in imaginative costumes and parade through the streets of the area in a vibrant and adorable display. Downtown Puerto Vallarta is typically closed to traffic during the largest parades, giving grown-ups visiting the area plenty of time to stand on the city's sidewalks and admire the spectacle.

Kid's Day

The Banderas Bay is finally heating up again as the last of the winter season fades away, and that means more popular outdoor events to enjoy in the area. There's a practically endless list of things to do in Puerto Vallarta on an everyday basis, but these special events are simply not to be missed.
