Puerto Vallarta will be Hosting the Association of Tennis Professionals Tournament

The first edition of the PVO tennis tournament will be played on the brand new courts of Parque Parota. The hard courts of Parque Parota were built specifically for accommodating the tournament, as well as the international requirements on ATP. The tournament will be single and double matches, with a best-of-three format that is played on a hard surface. The winner of the Puerto Vallarta Open will be awarded $75,000 USD and rising ATP world ranking.
This tournament will add to the very long history that Puerto Vallarta has had with the ATP, which started in 1994 during its first Challenger tournaments, the Womens Tennis Association from 1996-1998, and the International Tennis Federation (ITF) Futures Tournaments from 2000 to 2010. Tennis greats such as Billie Jean King, Martina Navratilova, Santiago Gonzalez Torre and Vasek Pospisil have all played here.
