New Procedure for Temporary Residency

Currently the INM immigration office in Puerto Vallarta is running a regularization campaign so you can apply for a temporary residency without leaving Mexico.



Some of requirements are:
* You have been in Mexico with an expired FMM tourist visa or with an expired residency card before December 31, 2019.

* Valid passport.
The process for the temporary residency under this campaign, includes 3 immigration fees which are:
1.- For the reception and study of the case $1,410.00 MXN
2.- Penalty fee, which will be imposed by the INM during the process.
3.- Temporary Residency card:

Up 1 year $ 4,413.00 MXN
2 years$ 6,613.00 MXN
3 years$ 8,376.00 MXN
4 years$9,927.00 MXN

PLEASE NOTE: This won’t apply for visas expired during the years 2020 or 2021.

On the other hand,  if you are staying in Mexico with a tourism visa which have expired during the last 60 days and are you interested on obtain a new legal stay  for another 180 days by tourism, according Art. 52 by immigration guideline , you may apply for a Regularization process if you fulfill the following financial solvency you may able to apply for a new tourist legal stay for 180 days under one of the following 2 options:

A.- Proof of financial solvency as bank statements for the last 6 months which shows an approximate monthly balance of $2,358.42 USD or $2,841 CAD.

OR

B.- Proof of employment or pension income as bank statements for the last 6 months showing that the applicants receive a monthly income of $1886.73 USD or $2274 CAD.
